Magic Season 2021: Farming is published and developed by Stark Game LLC, it is a city builder type that features a lot of parts to fix and create. In this title, you are tasked to build your very own paradise by finding a hidden magical glade. Discovering old and decrepit structures as the mist is expelled by a magic wand, it is set upon the player to return these to their former glory and manage further improvements. Almost all of the construction feats you can do are thanks to the aforementioned mystical device, and it is the main resource needed to complete all the work. Do not fret when it eventually runs out, and it can be replenished by playing the toy factory minigame. Sometimes other items will be required to further push the enhancements of the building, and these could be mundane things like soap or other stuff. Those can be received through activities and receiving them from everyone on your friend list.
The mechanics of the game are simple and intuitive, and most actions only require holding a button or swiping on the screen. The loop for each location is like this: First, you go to a glade and clear the mist so you can see the things you have to work on. Second, choose a structure to repair and upgrade. Once selected, the entire process can be done by holding on to the wand button. It will level up until the fetch requirement appears. Third, to replenish your primary resource, a minigame must be played, it is a simplified version of tower defense. Here you use chocolate as currency to buy random units that will be placed on the board. When a duplicate arises, you can drag one to another and fuse them to be a better version of themselves. Fourth, in regards to requesting items from friends, the title provides you with a few artificial intelligence “friends,” they will be the primary source of secondary materials.
You can add real-life contacts that have the app downloaded as well to increase gains. Finally, when it feels like everything is holding you back, there are boosters available in the shop to help your progress be as smooth as butter. They come at reasonable prices and are worth it. The developers plan to add more things in the future, like new minigames and locations to visit.
The graphics have a cartoony aesthetic of live 2d imagery. No hardcore animations and the like but just minimalistic cute movements. Everything is colorful, and the designs are exquisite; it is such a feast for the eyes!
All the sounds you can hear evoke a cheerful fantasy vibe and works really well with the theme. The background music is different from the mountains of Tibet to the beautiful sunny sandy beaches of Hawaii. It may be simple, but it gets the job done to set the mood and help reduce burnout. The feedback heard when interacting with menus is cute and makes things engaging.
