The bakery has always been one of the most important establishments in the history of mankind. Without the bakery, there would be no bread in general, and if the people cannot have bread to eat, as Queen Marie Antoinette would say, "Let them eat cake", which unfortunately points once again, back to the bakery. A bakery, by definition, is a store or establishment that produces and sells oven-baked- flour-based products or food. Whether it be cake, bread, cookies or pies, if a food product has flour and cooked by baking, chances are, they will have it at the bakery.
The bakery as we know it, traces it's origins all the way back to the Roman era. That is when Rome as an empire practically ruled the known world. The earliest known association or guild of bakers was said to have been established in Rome in around 168BC. From that point on, the necessity and popularity of the bakery, and the predominance of bread as a primary food source worldwide, has cemented itself into everyday living across the centuries.
Speaking of baking and the bakery, game publisher Vorsz has released an awesomely cute bakery and farming mobile game simulator for the young and the young at heart. The game is called Lop Bakery and sort of chronicles the adventures of a cute rabbit (bunny) named Loppie. The game is quite reminiscent of the old Saturday morning cartoons where the main characters are animals, living in an alternate world like our own, and interacting with each other just like people do. After all, as hard as it is to fathom, animals are in a way, people too.
The story goes with Loppie coming to the aid of her good friend Mr. Beaver by feeding him some carrot bread as he lay starving on the road. Liking the bread, Mr. Beaver then suggests to Loppie to open up a carrot bakery as she cooks food pretty well. Thus begins the adventures of Loppie and her Lop Bakery. As a game, it is simple and intuitive to learn, not to mention a lot of fun for gamers who love cartoons and animals. Loppie will guide you through the first phases of the game as you help her establish her food business. Lop Bakery is not only a bakery simulator but sort of a farm simulator as well. You will have to plant carrots and then harvest them for use as a main ingredient to make bread. With the baked products, the other animals will start visiting the bake shop to purchase the bread products for food. This will start the business simulator rolling.
Loppie will guide you through the planting steps of the game from planting on the provided plot of land to watering, waiting, and harvesting the fully grown carrots. The options and/or commands are displayed for tapping on both the left and right side of the screen. From this, the orientation will proceed to the cooking and baking processes involved in the game. Note however, that as a bakery, cooking supplies and ingredients would be needed. This is where the game’s trade options kick in. Lop (as she is affectionately called) can visit the Monkey Market (as it is being run by a monkey). There, Lop can trade by selling her products or buying the things she will need to cook more bread products. Through this, coupled with the animal patrons that frequent her store, Lop Bakery is able to earn.
Though Lop Bakery as a game seems to be simple and straightforward at first glance, please be reminded that as a simulator, the game takes time to play. Also, the game being in the free2play platform insures that the player will encounter the “grind” and will have the option to ease things up by spending actual cash on upgrades and special features that will no doubt boost one's game. Regardless, Lop Bakery is so much fun and lighthearted, as not everyone loves shooting and blowing things up when it comes to gaming. The graphics is so cute, as well as the narration and music in the game. Overall, if you are the kind of person that looks for the lighter side of life and still have the innocence of your childhood or still really young, Lop Bakery may just be the game for you.
